1. What’s the room and who uses it?
My absolute favourite room of our house is our living and meals area. It is such an expansive and open space that flows through to our outdoor area. It is filled with so much natural light and an area that my husband, two fur babies Bobby and Winnie and I, spend most of our time together and chill out.
2. What do you do for a crust?
So I actually have two jobs. I work in marketing and communications for local government full time, and then my other creative outlet is as a makeup artist – Makeup by Maryanne. I have been doing makeup since I was 16 and love it! I spend most weekends in my studio doing makeup for clients, and also freelance for weddings. With the wedding season coming up, it is definitely going to start and get busy, but it is something I LOVE doing and it keeps me out of trouble!
3. What goes on in the room?
This is our main entertaining area of the home. For one open space, it really does suit so many purposes! We have a sitting room to the front of the home with two stunning mustard armchairs and a brass bar cart that I am in love with. It’s a great space to read a book during the day or enjoy a drink after a long day at work!

Our meals area is great for when we have dinner parties. We have a huge dining table with some great pieces of artwork that adds a pop of colour to the area.
4. Favourite piece in the room and why?
It is so hard to pick a favourite! As we only bought this house at the beginning of the year and everything we have bought is still relatively new, it is hard to just pick one! I do love the bigger statement pieces in each area; however also really appreciate how the smaller décor items tie everything together.
One of my favourite pieces is the buffet table. I really like where it is situated in the home and it holds some really beautiful photos and memories from our wedding day. However, our dining table is definitely a statement piece that a lot of our guests love and comment on when they visit our home.
5. Anything on your wish list that you would love to add to the space?
New blinds and sheers across the back sliding doors. I think this will just finish the space off and add warmth to the space.

8. What’s one lovely memory you have whilst being in the room?
I think the transition that this space has had since we moved in. We purchased our furniture and slightly renovated the space in different stages, so we got so excited to see new things it in. Each time we did get a new piece of furniture or décor item it would look that little bit more special every time and would get us excited for the end result. Now we look at the space and we are so happy with the outcome!
